Thanks to all of you who have responded. It seems that the new downloader
that they are using may be okay except that the buttons on it aren't
identified. I will do some more experimenting.

It certainly was accessible at one time. I don't know how the current
version is as I haven't downloaded anything from Amazon in the past six
months. But, here is a helpful post I created about a year ago for somebody
else.
I wrote this quick guide for someone else a year ago, but the last time I
purchased something from Amazon, the principles still applied. So, I'll just
paste in what I had and if you have any problem, let me know.
If you don't have the Amazon Mp3 Downloader, Go to this link and find the
install link

Your downloads will go into the folder specified in the Amazon Downloader
program. So, you need to look at the program, usually the default location
is my music\amazon mp3\ArtistName, where ArtistName is the artist of the
album you ordered. If you ordered a single, I'm not sure if it follows that
convention or if it puts your single in the various artist folder.
Here's a small help file I did for someone else a couple months ago. The
refreshing issue only occurred with Win-Eyes, so you probably can disregard
the last part of the message.

Ok, this appears to work with Win-Eyes 7.5. I tried alternatively using Jaws
13.1, but I had problems with it focusing on the correct link with my IE8
and Windows xp. But, Jaws 12 works well with the Amazon downloader though. I
didn't try System Access, but I expect it would work well too.
To download an Amazon mp3 album:
Find the mp3 album you want. A page will appear with the track listings.
Click the one-click checkout which is located above the first heading.
A table will open which will confirm that you want to order the album.
Click the continue link.
Another page will open with a bunch of typical Amazon links including a
table. In the table, you will see a reference to opening the album in the
cloud player. Right below that is a download link. Click on that. You may
have a warning that comes up from your browser, simply confirm you want to
download the file.
I just had to update to the latest version of the Amazon Downloader, so I
then got a message that I had to authorize my computer; I think this was in
reference to the cloud player, but I did it. You should only need to do this
once. If you didn't have to authorize, you probably got a double-beep
pop-up warning that asks if you want to automatically download the album to
the Amazon player on your computer. Up near the top of the screen, there
will be a yes button, a no button, and a checkbox that you can check if you
don't want that message again. I just clicked on the Yes button.
As the album is downloading, if you go to the Amazon music downloader
program by alt-tabbing, you should hear a progress bar. It will go up to
100% for each track, so you will hear it cycle through several times to
complete all the album tracks.
Now, after Karen clicked the download button using Win-Eyes, she had no
response. Here is what we found out using WinEyes:

In case anybody else had the same issue Karen did, here is the solution.
When you get the beep from IE when you click the Get MP3 link, hit alt-n for
the info bar. It will say IE blocked this download. Hit the application key
and allow the download.
Now, in Window-Eyes 7.5.4 on the XP machine, it shows a blank screen. Do a
screen refresh in Win-eyes insert-backslash. Now, if you go back to the
table and click the get mp3 link again, you will get the do you want to save
or run the file dialog. Click on save and it should download into your
amazon downloader directory, which should be in your my music directory.
That is the default area for downloaded purchased music from Amazon.

frustrated with Amazon music and haven't tried for years. They
required you to download something called Amazon downloader, why
