I think you'll be very pleased with the KX3.
You say " I am getting one as well as the Ham Pod " and if those are
unrelated purchases, fine. But, I want to make sure you realize that you
don't need the Ham Pod at all to use the KX3.

Thanks very much. I realize the power limitations, but I am out and about a
lot, and I would love to play with a wire with a rock on the end of it
thrown up into a tree. AS soon as I get my Icom's sold I am getting one as
well as the Ham Pod.
