Ron:

As I said in an earlier post, menu 2 is the menu item you need to change the
second-level function time delay in the TS590.

I changed mine to 1 second, which is the maximum available delay time, as
far as I can tell.

Kelvin, regarding the TS590 issue Tom experienced, you stated: "There is an
option in the menu system to increase the time needed to hold buttons to
engage second level commands,..."

Can you, or someone on the list, tell us how to get to this menu item to
change the time needed to hold buttons to engage second level commands?

Hi Tom,

I came across this same problem when I wrote the 590 accessibility review on
he AE site, and I suggested extending the time needed for button presses.
Here is what I wrote:

***
The Meter button also engages the Drive feature when held for about 1
second. The Drive reduces power output for use on the LF bands, and beeps
to indicate On and Off. It could be easy to accidentally hold in the
'Meter' button for slightly longer than you had intended, and find you are
no longer being heard because power has been reduced. There is an option in
the menu system to increase the time needed to hold buttons to engage second
level commands, and this mightbe be useful.

Subject: De-activating the DRV function on the TS590

Hi, folks.

Ok, so I'm somewhat embarrassed here.

I think I accidentally got my TS590 into the DRV mode, where it will not put
out any output power, and I can't remember how to get it out of this mode.

I know I have had this issue before, and thought I wrote down the fix, but
can't find it in my notes.

If one of our patient TS590 users can help me with this one more time, I
promise I'll write it down in a prominent place in my cheat sheet notes
here.

This DRV thing is one of the only complaints I have about this rig.

It's so easy to get into the DRV mode, and not intuitively obvious how to
get back out of it.
