8 is definantely an inprovement over 5.1. for example try accessing ie 7,
windows vista or office 2007 with JAWS 5.1.

It's been so long since I used 5.1 I can't recall. So far I was the happiest
with 7.0 over all though. 8 just, unlike 7.1, wasn't so bad that I went back
after trying it.
