Does that need to be done from inside the radio or from the outside as
probably could get someone at work to attempt to do this that has sight.

if you have a set of mini needle nose plyers, you can tighten that nut 
pretty well if your careful.
just line up the tips of the plyers with the slots and keep pressure into 
the slots with the plyers and twist...they pop out pretty easy, and the nut 
will probably get damaged a little, but it does work...that's how i take off

the bnc connecter nuts.  a pair of small flat head screw drivers will work 
as well in a pinch.
