If you are in cw, and the key is open, their should never be a detectible
output signal.
I have a valiant with 3 6146 finals.
A friend of mine built a oscillator circuit with a reference tone, so I can
look at what the internal meter is reading.
In the case of the valiant, it is
Plate current, modulator current, grid drive, buffer current and oscillator
current.

The question is why is the bias voltage and current going crazy?
Is maximum output at the same spot as lowest plate current? That's what
neutralization does.

Yes Mal recommends neutralization and bius adjustments and he did that =
already for me. What is key up?=20 I get my readings in the CW/tune mode
which is a continuous carrier. = However in SSB, I can count 1,2,3,4 etc and
get a peak reading when I it =
4 and get about 175/180W SSB. SSB output is controlled by the mic gain = on
this rig.=20 I think the only thing left to do when she comes back is to
adjust the = EQ a little, I could add a little higher frequency to my
transmitted = audio. Right now, the EQ is in the default.=20
