I noticed that my TS570 would drop to around 40 watts on 10M...can't
remember if the ts2000 drops as well, i am thinking it does, but i can't
remember by how much.
The cause of that is of course the tuning of the rig...it is likely peaked
for 20Meters and as you get closer to the limits of the HF part of the
radio, the power will begin to reduce...you may notice 160 has a power drop
close to the band edge as well.
this seems to be a fault with almost every HF radio out there.
There is another interesting issue, and that is frequency stability....the
FT897 is about 10 hertz off
 on the 2M ssb band, but dead on for the rest of the HF portion...which
means that in order to insure stability on the HF bands, there is a small
sacrifice for other bands.
