Hi

I believe I use a twin to it. Yes, it is a trial to get the bottom off. I
wish I could set it to run off from the radios internal power...

With a Kentwood radio you don't need batteries, nor in most cases do you 
need the amplification in the mic either.  If you want to run the 
amplification though you don't need batteries, it gets the power from the 
radio.
