RJ,

Where do you live, what city or town? We need to know if there are any
repeaters in your area that you could hit with a hand-held.

There are some talking radios for less than $100. The radio will come with
an antenna that will attach to the top. If you live to far from the
repeaters, you will need to put something outside, probably on the roof and
that might be an additional $50 to $100 depending on what you will need.

It is doubtful the club will purchase these for you, however, they may be
willing to put your antenna up outside. Don't be demanding.

We on the list will be able to tell you what you should purchase with the
budget you have to work with.

Howard #3
