It occurs with two screen readers. I would still have to hire someone to 
install it.

Garry, you can get a USB sound card for less than $15.  If you tell your
screen reader to use that one, and leave the main card for system sounds and
music, that might solve the problem.  At least it will give you another
audio option.  I wonder if the problem occurs with more than one screen
reader?
That would eliminate the screen reader as the villain.
