Hi Tom, this one is a bit expensive, but certainly fills the bill. The Sony
icf-sw100.I just got hold of one of these, and it's totally almost useable.
Things like alphabetical display is out of our reach, but the 50 position
memory is accessable, as is dirrect frequency entry.
It'scontinuous from 150khz on up through 29.999mhz, and includes with sterio
through headphones the fm band from 76mhz on up through 108.
The radio is small, but packs a real punch. Supports ssb reception, and will
work with an external antenna.
But, uses a pherit loop on am, and long wave.
But, here it performs well on both.
