Hi Michael,

I have never seen that kind of power out of the amp.  I drive mine always
with the full 100, I know I'm hard on amps, and usually see between 600 and
700 watts out on my PT-2000.  In the world of amps, you wouldn't notice any
real difference between 600 and 1000.  Maybe 2 to 3 DB at the most.  That is
an easy trade off for me for the ease of just flipping one switch on the
front to change bands and away I go.
