You understand the construction details that I explained, and you are
correct. While it would be a DC short, it is not when it comes to RF. RF and
DC work quite differently.

I know very little about antenna design, so  for those who do, this will =
look like either a misunderstanding  of the information or antenna = theory.
Sounded like the center connector and braid are both connected to the =
continuous bent tubing. Bet someone will clear this up for me.
