Since it is unanimous that the TM V71A and TS-590 both require the VGS1
speech board to be installed. If I were to purchase those rigs, and they did
not have the VGS1 installed, how difficult is it to install the speech
board? I assume those boards are rarely available on the used market and
probably have to be purchased new, right?

I've installed speech boards before, like in my TS-440 and I am pretty sure
I had to install a speech board in my Paragon too as I recall. It wasn't
really too difficult, but I got sighted assistance to help me.

Ron,

The TMV71A requires the addition of the VGS1 board.

That is a really good FM rig.

I'm pretty sure the TS590 requires the addition of that same board.

Do the Kenwood TMV71A and TS590 rigs have the speech built
into them, or do
you have to add the speech board as an extra option? I know
my other older
Kenwood rigs that I had like the TS440, I had to have the
speech board
installed.
