The TS-2000 has a button like that: Hold it in while in split mode and you
can hear your RX freq and tune to find a clear spot if need be. It's also
helpful to determine if you are in split or not. If in normal VFO
operation and you press this button, you just get a boink. If you are in
split, the freq will shift to the other VFO and the Voice will announce
the freq. If you keep pressing and releasing the button to keep track of
both Vow's, the voice never shuts up and you want to reach in and strangle
her.

Sounds like you had a great time this weekend. A lot better than my
weekend, but that's a story for another time.
