Hey Bob, The wattage output dropping reminds me of when someone tunes a
radio and the antenna has changed in some way and the radio compensates gby
lowering the output wattage so you don't blow the finals. Gary KB2YAA

Subject: Kenwood TS590S problem

Hi all, the other day my 590 suddenly dropped power to 16 watts. It =
would put out less than 16 watts, but no more. My swr was 1.0 to 1. This =
condition existed on all bands. I checked obvious things such as split =
frequency off and antenna tuner off. I finally decided to do a vfo reset =
rather than a full reset. It worked and the 590 is at full power again. =
I have no idea why this happened and wonder if any one else has =
experienced a sudden loss of power with the 590.=20
