John, is the bottom of your vertical above the metal structures? Mine would
be just above the roof of a wooden garage, bolted to a metal mast buried in
concrete with an eight foot ground rod hooked to the antenna. Jim WA6EKS

My vertical is 5 feet from my house, which is a trailer with metal siding,
about 15 feet form my metal shed and it works just fine. You just have to
try it and see.
