Tom,

A pre-fill file is a file designed for a specific contest and for a
specific software package. It will fill in the data fields when a call
is entered that is in the file. The files for Writelog are compiled
by AL9A in Alaska.

It's compiled from logs of the same contest over the past year or 2.
Since you (and about 6,000 others) were in the file, entering your call
would populate your name and state.

Not counting all the "Rich's" this year, it was about 90 percent
accurate. Of course you have to log what was sent, and not rely on
the file that may be incorrect, but still pretty cool.

I've always wanted to try it and finally did. For me it is probably
better when doing S and P rather than running. Not sure I'll use it
next week, but it's something I always wanted to try. .
