Hi Mike,
I have used crimp on termonal luggs for menny years.
I have never had any problems cdrimping them myself ring turminals and 
spades buck splices what ever.
They seem to work fine. usually the cdrimp on ones have a plastic covering 
over the part whare you crimp.
