Depends on how much money his wife will let him spend!
Both the 480 and 590 are great!  Nothing wrong with a used 570.

Hello folks,
A blind  friend of mine recently upgraded to general and is looking for
suggestions of which H F Kenwood would be best for him.  I have the 480 but
some are telling him the 590 or others would work well for him.  he has the
71a for 2 meter and 440 so we don't feel a need to duplicate those freqs in
a base since his wife likely will not permit moving the 2 meter into the
car.
What are the suggestions?
