Tim, N3Q E, was at my house yesterday to look at my rotor control box. It
appears that the Rotor-EZ controller board took a hit from lightning, so I
will probably end up shipping the control box out somewhere to be repaired.
Using some clip leads and voltage and schematic checks, we got the beam
pointed straight west. I had nice QSOs with my brother W6PR on 10 and 15
meters just before sunset. So the next time we have a 20-meter net, which is
probably November 1, I will be hearing well to the west, and not so well in
south Florida and Minneapolis. Anyway, it was good to get this done and know
what's ahead. And I am ready for the CW and phone Sweepstakes contests, if
nothing else. Will work some CQWW this weekend, also, but there are other
things that will take precedence.
