One of your statements, which I've included below, is both interesting and 
somewhat confusing to me.  Although I very rarely use more than 20 or 30 
watts on VHF with the 746, why do you say you need to turn down the power 
from the 100-watt setting if moving from HF to VHF?  Can't the rig transmit 
100 watts on VHF?

Here's your statement:

"If you have the radio set for 100 watts on HF, when you go to VHF, you need
to turn the power down to 5 watts or, whatever power setting you want to
use."

Am I missing something important here?
