Howard and all:

I made a couple of small Braille paper inserts with a thickness of four
Braille paper sheets, and wedged them into both sides of the top of the
cover, and the hum is reduced greatly.

I also had my XYL take a look at the meters on the supply when keying it
into a dummy load for five minutes on 100 watts.

Although the accuracy of the provided meters certainly could be questioned,
the voltage read 15 volts, and the amperage read 16 amps. And, all readings
remained rock solid with no fluctuations during the 5-minute dummy load
test. The TS590 internal meter also read a solid 100 watts throughout.

So, I think I'm going to put this problem to bed, and get on with using the
new supply normally.

Thanks again to everyone for your patience.

Tom,

If you have any rubber grommets that will fit over the mounting screws for
the transformer, put one between the chassis and the transformer mounting
ears where each screw is and see what happens.

Also, sometimes the metal laminations in a transformer will vibrate if one
or more didn't get glued together well during manufacturing.
