there are 4 pin xlr type, though they are not common...the common type is 
the 3pin variety.
The 4 pin may be called something else, or just xlr...the 3pin xlr connecter 
has been out for many decades though so nothing has changed, and the 4 pin 
has been out since at least the 60's as I had an old guitar amp that used a 
4pin xlr to connect the head to the cabinet...and now that I think about it, 
they reversed the standard configuration and the cabinet had the male 
connecter for input instead of the standard opposite of that.

I'm no audio guy, and have little experience with XLR connectors.
However, in 2001 when I got my Goldline mic as a free promotion,  it
came with a long cable with XLR female on one end to connect to the mic
and 8 pin round for the radio end with the 1/4 jack for ptt.

The XLR connectors were 4 pin and didn't match up with anything else I
had in the shack.   Don't know if this is a different standard, an
oddball, or something peculiar to Heil.   Again, I don't know much about
this stuff, and it was 15 years ago. Maybe different today.
   If you plan on mixing the Heil cable with another mic, I would
confirm that  things will match up before spending the money.
