I believe it is a dynamic mic.  It is the RadioSport RC60 that I'm
considering.

If the headset has a dynamic mic element, it won't need any voltage. 
Heil and others have plenty of these, but you need to know what you are
getting.

PC type headsets that have a condenser mic element need the voltage, 
either provided at the mic jack or added externally.   I have a Yamaha 
CM 500 which a number of hams use.  It comes with a small battery box for 2
triple A batteries.  It plugs inline in the mic cable  to add the voltage if
not provided elsewhere.
