Tom,

I don't use LOTW, but why  can't you do both?  Upload your individual 
contest logs to LOTW,  then send another copy of the same file to a 
"master" log in AC log.  You will have whatever it is that LOTW offers 
you, and also have an ongoing complete  log of all your contacts in AC log.
