Hmmm, Butch. I got a handmike with my 2000.

I think the free mike rebate was a promotion but I don't know if it expired.

The key to the left of the Power Button is initially assigned to read
frequency. If you read the documentation, you can change this to read S-Meter
readout through Menu 51A by selecting option 64. After doing that, you hit
the enter key which is the pound key on your numeric keypad twice to read
frequency.

I got the rig yesterday and am learning all, well not all, but some of its
functions. quite a radio and I'm really impressed with the way the
synthesizer reads memory, vfo, menu choices and so forth. I tagher there
is not a function or second definition for the key by the power button.
Would be cool if that could be assigned as well.

I didn't get anything about a free mike with my radio and I understood I
was supposed to get one. How does that work? Should I have gottten a
card to send in or something?
