Thanks Tom, I agree about the call being good on CW. That didn't play a
role in my decision, but it certainly worked out that way. I am quite
anxious to be able to start using the call. I don't know why it takes the
FCC so long to mail out a license. In the first day after I filed the
application, everything was done and determination was made that the call
was available, and that I was qualified to have a call like that one. W5YI
sent me an email telling me that everything was in order, and that I would
be getting the license on or about Dec. 27. So, why the wait? There must
be a valid reason, but I can't think of what it might be, HiHi.

Subject: New callsign coming

Hello all,

Since circa 1980 I have had my current call of KD7GC. In approximately 2
weeks I will be sporting a new call of N7MIT. I am just waiting for the FCC
to mail the new license to me, to begin using it.

I finally decided that I should request the callsign, and did so about a
week back. Being that N7MIT had been available since about 2008, I figured
that it was high time for me to get off of my fat arse and submit my
application.. So, if you hear N7MIT on the bands, you will know who it is.

Best 73

Alan, soon to be N7MIT
