Hello Terri,
I remember when cell phones were just starting to be popular.  I was living 
in Northern Kentucky at the time.  There was an event that amateur radio 
operators provided local communications for but that year they didn't think 
they would need us since they had people with cell phones.  But they asked 
us to be there just in case things didn't work.  well, the cell phones had 
areas where they lost communication so we came and saved the day for them.
