It was my understanding that you can't run echolink on two computers at
home.

Howard,

I've run Echolink on two computers, and registration/call validation isn't a
problem.  I can't speak for all routers, but on mine you can only open a
specific range of ports to one IP address.  I'd be interested to know if
your router works differently, but my understanding is that port triggering
is what you use to solve that problem.  I wrestled with it for a while, but
got frustrated and decided that I'd only run Echolink on my laptop until I
found a way to get port triggering to work.
