There is an FT950 Yahoo group where such questions are often asked. Some
950's have had a cable come loose connecting the front panel to a particular
circuit board. Others have done a firmware upgrade to the 950 but used the
wrong one (there are two series of FT950s with different DSP chips in them).
I have heard good things about Yaesu tech support; several people have
called there and gotten good advice. I can't think of anything else.

Subject: Yaesu FT-950 serious problem

Hi Lloyd:=20

As your the owner of an ft950, have you ever encountered or heard of the
fol=
lowing problems?=20
1. Rig stuck on 7.000mhz, shift light on, both transmit and receive lights
o=
n.=20
2. No audio coming out of the radio, front panel knobs and switches locked
a=
nd all resets don't work.=20
3. All firmware upgrades or re-installation of the original firmware
doesn't=
fix things either.=20
1 of our club members has the radio and asked a friend of mine to take a
loo=
k at it after the problem happened last week.=20
He was transmitting, signed and then the issues occurred. =20
Hope you can suggest something, TNX & 73:=20
