I've don it lots of times.  I would check voltage first at the back of 
the supply.  If you stay from the front of the supply, that is where the 
120 ac is.  The pot is a little strange to find, the board is upside 
down, parts down, so you have to kind of reach under the board to find 
the pot.  The board is usually mounted on top of the very large filter 
cap.
