Two things. Make it three:

1. Yes! The RT Systems software is great! I got it for my Icom T81A
when the Icom version never showed up at HRO, and I love it!

2. You'd change your mind about Icom HT's being intuitive if you got
ahold of the T81A. It's the most unfriendly HT I've owned! The
joystick button's a pain in the ass, and you have to access so much
with it, including DTMF memories. The programming software's a *must*
to operate this thing.

3. Check your ham fests for SMA-to-BNC adapters. I got a couple for
$2.50 apiece. They're certainly not the nice, sealed ones, but they
let me use my half-wave dualband HT antenna on the SMA connector of my T81A!
