Also, the cheap hts like I have are a s d r, software defined radio. 
They do work and have their place, but the f6 is a traditional cual 
conversion receiver, better rejection and so forth.  I love the baofengs 
for what they are, but I also have an f6 and plan on keeping it.  The 
general coverage isn't very sensative, but I've used it from monitoring 
wireless speakers to monitoring my ssb signal on hf.  Just depends on 
what you want and what you can afford.
