Hi Eric,

I made two calls to Wimo headquarters today. First, I talked to a sales
representative and a few minutes later to one of their technicians. Here is
what I have come up with:

Only the owner of the company will be travelling to Dayton this year as a
private individual. So, there will not be a Wimo booth at Hamvention.

It seems that they are working with U.S. distributors, but none of the
persons I talked to could give me their more detailed information.

The Baby Loop is made by I3VHF. The version that Wimo sells has a built-in
230 Volt power supply which cannot be modified.

Of course, you could still write to Wimo, ask for a quote and purchase the
antenna and the controler through them. Getting a power converter at a local
electronics store shouldn't be a problem.

To request a quote, send e-mail to [log in to unmask] Make sure to give
them your complete postal address and indicate the airport closest to your
QTH. This is very important, because you would need to pick up the package
at that airport.

Another option is to get in touch with the manufacturer. His company website
contains information on the antennas he makes, but they do not seem to have
an online store. The following link takes you there:
www.ciromazzoni.com

Almost all of the links on his website except the one to send e-mail aren't
labeled properly. If I wre you, I would simply drop them a line explaining
that you are interested in purchasing the Baby Loop antenna.

Last, but not leas I suggest that you contact HRO, AES and other major ham
gear dealers to find out, if they carry the Baby Loop.

I hope, you find this information useful. Good luck with your research.
Please let us all know what happens.

Christoph, DF9WM
