Hi Phil,
I have only been on 17 meters a few times but in the late 70s I was in the
80 meter novice band while on Florida. I made a contact with someone in
the state of Washington. I was using headphones and the volume was wide
open on my TS520 Kenwood when a station in Ohio with 10 over 9 signal came
on and the headphones departed from my head.
