I think you're right.  I remember reading something shortly after his 
wife passed on.  Apparently she was really a guiding force for that show 
behind the scenes.  And, over the past several months it seemed he was 
absent as much or more than he was doing the show.

But, again, he lead a good long life.  I should live so long.  <smile>
