Richard:
I think that's what I'll do, with the theory that the ts480 auto-tuner
should help things out on either side of the center.
I also have an old manual MFJ tuner if needed, in conjunction with the LDG
TW1.

Hi Tom;
Depends upon the tuner. In my case the plan was for the general portion =
of the phone band so I cut it accordingly. No harm in cutting it for =
the center and seeing how the tuner flies.

Richard:
If you cut the antenna for the center of 80, though, might you be able =
to=20
get away with using a tuner for the outer edges on either side? Or, =
will=20
the antenna likely be too narrow on 80 meters for something like that?

Subject: alpha delta
Hi;
At a prior qth I had great luck with alpha delta. Their dipole for 80 =
& =3D
40 meter covers all of forty meters and about 100 kc on 80 under 2/1
It is nice in that you don't have to use ladder line and the feed line =
=3D
doesn't have to go straight down. I had no support under the center =
and =3D
it held up fine. You do have to cut the ends of the antenna for the =
=3D
portion of 80 meters you want to use.
