Hmmm, another reason not to like outlook 2013.
Up here, there is a 6 hour swing in the amount of daylight from June to
December.
That changes things from a 3 hour swing.
Opinions are cheap, we all have ours.
I wonder why all replies wouldn't go through the list.
That is if they came from the list.
I just met a bunch of real friendly guys on 3.916.  They have a series of
nets and invited me back any time.
They start at 19-00 CST, and I think go to 19-00 EDT, but I am not sure.
Their has to be a way to get more audio out of the ts-590.
Kenwood is notoriously conservative with its ALC.  I got maybe 30 more watts
RMS out of the elecraft when I had it.
I think an amp would cause more problems than it would solve here.

Arizona is the smart state because they never adopted daylight saving time
at all.  If we are going to have it, then it should only be between say
Memorial day weekend and Labor Day weekend.  That's all you need if you need
that since the kids are usually out of school around Memorial day weekend
and back in school by Labor day anyway in most cases.  The 24 international
time zones were established by international treaty for a reason, and to me
that's the way it ought to be.

And in 1974, kids were being hit by cars because the drivers couldn't see
them waiting for school buses in the dark.  And as an energy saver, it does
zilch!  

BTW, Howard, you must have a reply address in your email program because any
responses to your list emails are sent to your personal email address unless
someone notices it and changes it to the list address.  So some of your
responses may not be making it to the list.

Well if you do it year round, sunrise is at 8-30 at the eastern end of the
time zones in the north.
That put morning commutes in the dark.
With the current setup, the switch puts sunrises in March where people have
become used to them in December.
If you use standard time in the summer, hours of usable daylight are wasted.
Sunrise comes around 4-15 in the morning, with sunset around 19-30.
It's a compramize for sure, but any sign of spring is welcome up here.
We don't care and we will grasp at any straw that we can.
The sun is so strong, that snow melts off roofs at zero in the daylight.
Its still zero, but the promise of spring is still here.
