On the front panel for the 480, the 4th button from the left adjusts the
step size for the selector click knob.

I found that if I press it once and touch the tuning knob, all of a sudden I
have a nice slow tuning dial. I had the internal menu set to 250, and this
combination was amazingly slow. I pushed the internal menu 3 up to 1000,
and now I have a very nice tuning ratio. Press the button for a low beep
and I can tune fast across a chunk of spectrum.

Just tap the button rather than hold it in.
I wonder if this works because it works, or if it relates to an internal
menu setting?
Others with the 480 can check it out.
I wonder if the 570 and 590 behave in a similar manner?
