Hi chll,
I believe you are right.  We are just adding different things to 
the hobby.  My problem is that I find Echo Link annoying and 
personally I do not want to listen to it.
I think people should consider that other people might want to be 
on a local net and not hear all that annoying stuff.  I also 
think it might be hard for people with hearing loss to hear and 
understand Echo Link.
Echo Link might have its place but I do not think it is on a 
local club net.
