I found some more info on the puxing px777.
I googled puxing and came across their company website.
I checked under their certification link, and the px777 is specifically
certified by the FCC by a US bassed standards lab.
Now, i didn't persue this further to see if the certification actually
allows the px777 to be type excepted for amateur use in the US, but that
wouldn't be difficult to find out from their data bass i suspect.
The company that builds these radios is ISO9000 certified, which in itself
lends credibility that many chinese manufacturers don't have.
they are apparently a credible quality controlled company that appears to be
able to build self programmable radios, have them fcc approved and then sell
them in the US.
Now you can see how much proffit the big companies like kenwood, icom and
yaesu, and especially motorola are making on their radios which are all now
built in china.
$50 for a handheld, which kenwood or motorola will then sell for $800.
