Hi folks,

SOme of the tales here have been fun to read. They illustrate why I
don't use vox. I like my foot switch with my headset however. I can
use it like vox when sending traffic to pause in case the copying
station needs fills, but I don't have the dangers inherent with vox
and my mouth.

I happen to make comments from the peanut gallery without keying up,
and I wouldn't want that accident to happen.

I can remember a few years ago hanging out at a college club station
with a bunch of people. A guy was working on something and burnt his
finger if I recall correctly with a hot soldering iron. HE uttered
some of those words proscribed on polite radio and the d104 microphone
on the desk dutifully did its job. The vox was open and ... you know
the rest.

If you put garbage in a computer nothing comes out but garbage. But
this garbage, having passed through a very expensive machine, is
somehow enobled and none dare criticize it.
