I have looked and looked for a type of standoff insulator and cannot find
them. I have even written to The Wireman and a few other possible sources,
and nobody seems to have what I am looking for. So, I’m coming back to my
“ace in the hole” resource, this super list. 

 

I am trying to find a source for standoff insulators that are about 1 ½” or
so long, have a screw or threaded base that will allow me to screw it into
wood, and is rounded or looped on the other end, like an eye bolt, but that
end also has an insulator material, like ceramic or Bakelite, or similar
polymer with a small hole in the center through which I can thread wire,
like a #12 vinyl coated wire. I have seen such insulators in my life. In
fact, I have used them before, but that has been a long time ago. The length
is not too important; though I would like them to not be more than about 2”
long.

 

I hope my description is sufficient to facilitate your being able to
visualize and understand what I am trying to find. Do any of you have any
suggestions where I can locate such standoffs? I am working on an
experimental antenna and need them to thread my antenna wire through.
