Colleagues,

I have a computer question that I suspect has a very simple, easy answer,
and I also suspect several of you know the answer. I was having trouble
with my computer; just recently when I clicked on my MS Word files, like
.doc files, it gave me an error, something like: cannot open, not a system
32 file. Also, I discovered that my Security Essentials protection
software was mysteriously turned off, and I could not turn it back on.
After trying several different things, none of which worked, I finally
restored my system files back to an earlier date when I knew I wasn't
having that problem. That fixed it; that is, everything seems to be
working okay again, except now, when I re-boot my computer, it comes up
muted, and I cannot hear my JAWS speech program. So, my question is: what
do I need to do to change the default so when I re-boot my computer, it
will not come up with the audio muted and I will be able to hear JAWS?

Solve one problem, creat another!! <frustration>
