Bob,

Do you have the built-in tuner in yours?  a friend of mine had a similar 
problem and they believe it was tuner-related.  hRO replaced the rig for him 
but this is now the fourth unit I've heard of that exhibited problems. 
seems kenwood may have some QC issues.  Lou WA3MIX
