    Well, Richard, it works for me, and those sighted folks who work the
most closely with me. ... There was just no easier way to disable the
touch-pad mouse in the Dell Lattitude 610 laptop, even according to the tech
folks at Dell.

There also seemed to be no easy way to adjust the sensitivity of the touch
mouse, or, at least, we couldn't find any;  so, the best thing to do was
just turn it completely off.

I would think that this strategy should work for you too.
