I too have had good luck with my G.E. Super 3, which incidentally I bought for slightly more than $35 shortly after the radio was introduced.  I generally agree with Will's assessment, though my results on the a.m. band have been less spectacular.  The
feature on this radio which I especially like is the wide mode listening position on a.m. which provides surprisingly good highs on strong signals.

One problem with mine which I find annoying is the frequent frequency drift on a.m., especially when the D cells are ngetting near the end of their usable lives.
