I agree this is absolute coorperation at its finest. If Icom and Yaesu were willing to do this. 
So with the Omni VII+, Super Eagle and Orion III in the works hope that the least expensive of the 3 will be your test rig. If the Prometheus is any  indication, the Orion III could be a 5G plus Rig and out of most of our reach. 
In the mean time, the Eagle is a nice little compact rig, perhaps you may land that 1 in the next 6 months to a year for accessibility work.
