I suppose it's risky, but for three years, while I lived in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, I'm pretty sure that the coax going to my ground-mounted 50-foot 80/40
meter vertical lay on the ground.  It was RG58, and no special precautions
were taken.  I could disconnect it at the base of the antenna whenever I
thought weather threatened or the lawn needed to be mowed.  So I think you
could take a risk with this coax, at least over the coming winter.

I have had the same run of RG213 going outside and up my 60-foot tower for
28 years, and it doesn't seem to be too lossy.  I suppose I ought to find a
way to make a loss measurement on it.
